Dear Parents and Students,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to 8th grade Language Arts. My name is Mrs. Bradshaw and I look forward to assisting you on this leg of your educational journey. Middle school can be both exciting and overwhelming for students and parents.
Young adolescents experience drastic changes in every aspect of development from relationships with friends and peers to physical changes like height, weight, and maturity. As adults, far removed from the period of young adolescence, it is easy for us to forget how we were during this time and therefore it is easy for us to feel that we are living with youngsters from another planet, but I assure you that this is normal and they are perfectly normal.
That being said, parent/family involvement at this stage is crucial for success. I believe that parents/families play a very important role in the education of students. Research shows the positive effects that parental involvement has on student outcomes, both personally and academically. There are many opportunities offered here at Table Rock Middle School and in my classroom for parent/family involvement. Ways that you can support your student during these critical years are:
School Classroom
School Advisory Council Attend Parent Conferences
TRMS Athletic Boosters Monitor Students Homework
Volunteer Talk To Your Students
Encourage Students
Tutor or Mentor Students
Provide Field Experiences(Lunch & Learn)
#1 Be Actively Involved In Your Student’s Life: both in school and out of school.
I am available to assist you with any questions or concerns that you may have with regards to your child’s education. You may reach me by
